Since 1998 it has been a legal requirement for arboricultural climbing
and rigging equipment to be inspected regularly by a competent person,
as defined by the lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations
1998 (LOLER 98) and to keep written records of the inspections.
This course is aimed at providing training to people with a minimum of 5
years experience in arboricultural operations and the equipment used in
those operations. Trainees will typically come from an arboricultural
contracting background but could also include those involved in
associated roles.
The training is designed to provide all the necessary knowledge and
skills for such individuals to undertake assessment for the NPTC
Certificate of Competence in thorough Examination of Arboricultural
Equipment.
